Reinforcements from Turkish commandos arrived in southern Turkey in an effort to distribute them to military units stationed in the border region with Syria.

According to the agency "Anatolia" Turkish, that "commandos units arrived, on Sunday, to the region of Kerek Khan of Hatay province, coming from different bases inside the country."

 "The units went to the border with Syria amid tight security measures," the agency said.

The dispatch of Turkish special forces to the region coincides with operations by the Syrian regime on the areas of fortification of "Jabhat al-Nusra" militants in Khan Sheikhoun city of Edlib countryside.

The Syrian province of Idlib, which borders the border with Turkey, is part of the de-escalation zone set up in 2017, in an agreement reached through the framework of the Astana platform for resolving the Syrian crisis and sponsored by Russia, Turkey and Iran.

Turkey has already deployed 12 observation points in the area to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire.
